Recently as purchasers of our retirement home my wife and I had reason to replace the curtains and set about to obtain quotes, material choice and advise on best fittings for our situation. Our circumstances meant we would be absentee owners for the time the job would be done so there was some small amount of concern around the job and the timing.

We are extremely fortunate to have a house featuring the equivalent of a picture window in every room because of the extensive views of foliage – large and small – from the elevated position of our property.

We wanted window coverings which allowed us to see 100 per cent of the views but also create cosy covering on cool winter evenings. And the fabric style needed to complement the outside spectacle.

Our choice was large Roman blinds with bold striking designs that would create a pelmet effect and an exciting link to the stunning outdoors.

Stepping into the showroom at Flooring Xtra we were confronted with a cacophony of colour and design, fabrics that jumped out saying ‘pick me, pick me’!

With the choice made, our project progressed steadily with an enthusiastic and meticulous measure-up.
